La Cala de Mijas is a lively fishing village which has retained its traditions, charm and culture. Riviera del Sol are lovely urbanisations with golf courses, shops, restaurants, bars and their own beaches.  You can sample an excellent value “menu del dia” lunch along with the locals in a Spanish bar, try one of the many chiringuitos (beach bars) scattered along the beach and offering excellent food – just follow your nose to the aromas of freshly barbecued sardines – or dine at one of the very high quality and reasonably priced local restaurants. The area caters to all tastes and budgets! The beaches have been awarded EU Blue Flag Status for a high level of cleanliness and named amongst the best in the province, with the added protection and security of lifeguards in the summer months.

We have more than 320 days of sunshine per year and a lovely all year round climate. Our apartments are less than half an hour from Torremolinos, Puerto Banus, Marbella, Mijas Pueblo, Benalmadena, Fuengirola and Cabopino to name just a few. As is Malaga, which is so much more than just an airport, offering museums such as Picasso and Carmen Thyssen, a beautiful port area (Muelle Uno), designer and high street shopping – and usually the odd fiesta or two. For a family day out, the Bioparc and water park at Fuengirola are well worth a visit, and there is the Selwo wildlife park, Sealife centre, mini-golf, go-karting and a wide selection of other things to do if you want a break from the beach or pool! If you are lucky enough to be here during the Feria (the annual fair), you are in for the treat of enjoying street music, dancing, wonderful food, women dressed to the nines in flamenco dresses, an amazing atmosphere and the real joy of seeing a true Spanish tradition. Malaga and each town along the coast, including La Cala and Alhaurin el Grande, have their own at different times of year so you may be lucky enough to catch one of them!

And within two hours you can be in Granada, Seville, Ronda, the Alhambra – or even winter skiing at Sierra Nevada! This is a beautiful seaside area surrounded by stunning countryside, rolling mountains, wonderful valleys and attractive Spanish villages. The magnificent beaches are scattered with lovely beach bars.
